Advanced Quality Engineer

For quick consideration apply hereThis position can be located in St. Paul, MN OR LaCrosse, WIPosition Summary: Lead quality planning activities within Trane's New Product Introduction process for global product platforms to insure effective quality planning during the early stage of product development and launch. Assuring the design intent can be successfully carried over from design to manufacturing. Position also responsible for providing coaching and direction to local Quality managers and Operations staff with planning and implementing world-class Manufacturing processes.• Adopt APQP guidelines from AIAG to enhance the existing NPI process • Facilitate NPI projects to ensure on time delivery of Product Quality Plans • Train cross-functional teams on APQP and PPAP as necessary • Working knowledge in APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA and other standards / guidelines from AIAG • Working knowledge / skills in quality assurance and quality engineering. CQE, CMQ preferred. • Proven experience in problem solving and successful six sigma project implementation • Adjust APQP methodology to establish better quality planning standards • Promote knowledge management, information centralization and re-use on NPI projects • Identify design deficiencies at early stage of development and bridge the gaps between design and manufacturing • Promote the implementation of concurrent engineering • Work with cross-functional teams to build robust linkages into NPI process • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize NPI practice within TCS • Ability to self-manage when working with virtual and remote teams required • Must be experienced and confident in a highly matrixed work environment Qualifications • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, computer science, or mathematics • Minimum five years of engineering experience from automotive industry required with specific experience in AIAG guidelines. • Minimum three years of experience in a product development or manufacturing environment required • Experienced in conducting Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) • Experience with Quality for Controls Software • Six-Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent required, Six Sigma Lean Black Belt certification preferred • Working knowledge in APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA and other standards/guidelines from AIAG • Strong skills in quality assurance and quality engineering. CQE,CMQ preferred • Controls/software product development familiarity required • Traceable experience in problem solving and successful six sigma project implementationKey competencies: Total quality management, Planning, Building effective teams, Communication skillFor quick consideration apply here
