At Panasonic, our success depends on every single employee?s contributions - because the more we grow as individuals, the more we grow as a company.Currently the Panasonic Computer Solutions Company (PCSC), the maker of Toughbook laptop computers, has an opening for an Area Sales Manager that will focus on their commercial clients with field services teams. This individual will be responsible for a territory consisting of the South Central area of the United States and will be home-based within the assigned territory. BASIC FUNCTION:Selling to Dealers and End Users. Managing Dealers Sales Activities/Performance relating to Panasonic Product. Creating End-User demand and growing the revenue base in the assigned geographic territory and the strategic vertical market sectors identified by the company.Selling/Account Management/Customer Service ? Attain minimum of 100% of all assigned sales quota.? Develop business and relationships with clients, including Fortune 1000 Manufactures, Dealers and key End Users through close communications.? Promote new and key products to this customer base through demonstrations and presentations.? Develop and manage sales and marketing programs to develop increased awareness & demand for our products.? Maintain records of customer information & performance. Establish goals and track performance to objectives. ? Manage customer service issues to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and retention.Prospect Development ? Develop & identify new end user opportunities through prospecting and key end user calls and demos to meet the company objectives of pipeline development. ? Work with dealers as much as possible to help develop this new business through the dealer channel.? Maintain data base of calls to prospects for future use and communications.? Attend trade shows and events to identify new prospects.? Establish relationships with PCSC?s third party solutions partners/vendors to expand sales reach and prospect base.Planning Administration ? Provide timely, accurate & complete sales reports and forecasts. Attend required sales conference calls.? Give thorough market feedback to management.? Give a high degree of attention to individual Area Sales Manager performance against the assigned business plan. Plan activities, agendas, programs with achieving business budget always in mind. Give high attention to the plan numbers, current and projected performance to that plan.Product Knowledge ? Maintain a high level of product technical knowledge.? Maintain a high level of competitive product awareness.? Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge in the specific needs of the company focused vertical market sectors.? Stay with changes in technologies and communicate this knowledge on to your dealers/customers.MANAGEMENT: Managing all aspects of the dealer business with Panasonic, concisely and professionally and ensure that the territory has the optimum number of capable authorized resellers and partners to maximize the revenue opportunities in the territory.PROBLEM-SOLVING/KNOW HOW:Exercising judgment in presenting and selling the best product to the customer to solve their problem or get their job done. Ability to work through technology and service related problems. Effectively navigate the internal organization to resolve issues and customer requirements. Professionalism a must. 4 year degree required.COMMUNICATION: This is the key ingredient for success in this position. Must constantly communicate with customers, dealers, management, and internal personnel in a very clear and positive manner. This requires very professional conversation, presentation, and problem solving skills.
