Position Summary:

 

Manages the operation of the Finance department on a daily basis and facilitates the closing of the general ledger on a monthly basis.  Responsible for ensuring that the Company’s accounting policies are in accordance with GAAP, performed in a timely manner, are accurately reported to the users of the financial statements, and are useful to management.  This enables the Company to have an accurate understanding of its financial condition and to meet public reporting requirements.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

·  Manages the daily finance operations.

 

·  Manages monthly closing process.

 

·  Facilitates external audits.

 

·  Prepares monthly management reporting package.

 

·  Assists in the preparation of SEC quarterly reporting.

 

·  Assesses existing accounting systems and implements any necessary solutions to problems as encountered.

 

·  Documents and complies with accounting policies and procedures.

 

·  Ensures compliance with state and federal tax regulations.

 

·  Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

·  Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting/Finance required.

 

·  CPA/MBA/CMA a plus.

 

·  Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Accounting including prior supervisory experience.

 

·  Public accounting experience a plus.

 

·  Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP), SEC reporting  requirements, analytical skills and an understanding of general accounting processes/internal controls/systems.
