Job Description:

Summary: Develops and applies Computer Aided Design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems.

Essential Functions: Defines and selects new approaches in implementation of CAD software in the design flow. Assesses and reviews custom layout problems and methodologies, plans technical solution using CAD development software. Develops routines and utility programs. Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results often involving coordination among groups. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. May supervise the activities of others. Mentors other CAD engineers. Other duties as required.

Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: A technology related bachelor's degree or equivalent (MS in electrical or related engineering degree preferred). Combination of training and 10+ years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong familiarity with one or more of the following tools: Cadence Virtuoso, SKILL, and Verilog. Strong background Cadence Virtuoso platform and custom IC design flow. Experience with PDK (Process Design Kit) development. Background in Custom layout, Physical verification, parasitic extraction and post-layout simulation. Strong familiarity with one or more of the following programming languages SKILL, Shell, C, Perl. Knowledge of version control software. Self-starter, good communication skill and team work.
