JSR Micro, Inc. is the chemical manufacturing and distributing company in semi-conductor industry.  We are a U.S. subsidiary of JSR Corporation, a publicly traded company in Japan.  Experience as a manager in a Japanese-owned company is a big plus.  Experience in SAP and ADP payroll is desirable.

 

We are looking for a dynamic Controller to help restructure our Accounting and Finance Department. The ideal candidate will lead the team to become a best in class Finance organization. This ideal candidate must: 1) possess excellent organizational skills, 2) be able to develop a career development plan for the team and help coach and mentor the Accounting and Purchasing team members, 3) set a strategic direction for the Finance Department by establishing initiatives/goals, 4) recommend ways to improve efficiencies to ensure the integrity of a company's financial information, 5) possess excellent communication skills to work with all levels of management 6) work closely with the Treasurer to ensure goals and deadlines are met, and 7) become a strong business partner to the executives and managers of the Company.

 

As a controller, you will be responsible for managing the Company’s accounting and finance function.  You will also responsible for non-inventory purchasing and import custom related issues.  You will report to the Treasurer.

 

Responsibilities:Ensure integrity and adequacy of recording all the Company's aspects of financial information in accordance with U.S. GAAP by directing an accounting team of 5.Plan and lead timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing.  Design and direct efficient and smooth budgeting and forecasting process as a part of global JSR group.  Monitor departmental spending by adhering to approved budget.Review, analyze, interpret and publish accurate and timely periodic financial reports for both external and management reporting purposes.Effectively manage external audits and execute internal audits.Directly manage and execute tax related issues, customer credit control, cash flow & investment management and inventory risk control.Establish, update, implement and monitor accounting and internal control policies and procedures.Actively seek out and drive accuracy and efficiency improvement (i.e. process improvement, automation, and cost efficient initiatives).Take responsibility for planning and implementation of effective use of ERP system (SAP) and implementation of new technology if necessary.Supervise the accounting and purchasing staff.  Select, develop and evaluate team member.  Assign, monitor and review job responsibilities.  Provide feedback, guidance, training and ongoing support as necessary.Effectively maintain Company's relationship with banks and insurance brokers.Manage / supervise non-inventory purchasing activity including vendor contract management and import customs issues.Execute and supervise cross-functional / cross-departmental projects.Manage other add-hoc projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:BS in Accounting or Finance.  Masters degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.Must have strong current working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.  CPA preferred, but not required.Minimum 8 years of Accounting experience with at least 3 years of management experience in manufacturing environment in mid-sized company.Deep understanding of high end accounting ERP system (SAP / Oracle) is desired.Experience in working in subsidiary of international company (Japanese-owned Company) is a big plus.Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.Strong organizational, analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.Mature leader.  Ability to plan, assess, assign, monitor, coach, mentor and develop direct reports.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the multi-national environment.
