Certification Test Engineer - MediaFLO Technologies

Job Description
The MediaFLO Certification Test Engineer will be responsible for the development of test cases and test plans, execution of tests, including troubleshooting and problem resolution of the MediaFLO System in an effort to certify OEM handsets. Candidate will work closely with the Device Software Development team, the Device/OEM Integration team, and OEM Integration teams.



Close interaction will be required with the FLO Forum Test and Certification Standard representative and carrier and OEM Test Engineers to ensure test coverage and feedback. Successful candidate must have strong communication skills, be an effective team player and be flexible on his/her assignments. The position involves in depth debugging of the GSM/GPRS protocol stack, Candidate be exposed to new and upcoming technologies in UMTS - HSDPA/HSUPA/MBMS etc. Exposure to UMTS test simulators and test systems like Spirent, R&S, APEX and Satellite Simulators is a plus.

The candidate will also be responsible for various feature integration and test environment set up including creating and executing test scenarios.



Skills/Experience
Wireless Communications, RF engineering, and experience in CDMA (IS95 and 1X), DO, UMTS call processing and physical layer and understanding of GPS navigation, E911 and LBS a plus. Should have experience working with these applications in a wireless environment, including CDMA IS-2000, GSM/GPRS, or UMTS networks.



Experience with multimedia standards (JPEG, MPEG, IMAP, H.263, WAP, HTTP) or 2G and 3G multimedia applications (Browser, MMS, DRM, camera, third generation UI interfaces, Bluetooth, Media Player) will be given preference. Previous testing experience will also be given preference.





Additional Skills
Test experience (a strong understanding of test methodology), understanding of the software development cycle, and experience with wireless test equipment or telecommunications systems are all preferred. Working knowledge of Linux and Perl scripting.

Low level knowledge of the data protocol stack (PPP, IP, and TCP) is a plus. Application interoperability (IOT) experience with carriers, OEMs, vendors and test forums a big plus.



Education Requirements
Bachelor's Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering.
