Consumer Products Support Specialist

JVC, a pacesetting manufacturer of innovative consumer and professional electronic products is currently seeking a Product Specialist in our McAllen Texas Customer Care Center.  Responsibilities and qualifications include:

 

Summary

Provides basic and specialized product support for all consumer products.  Researches, develops, designs, and presents consumer product support information for the customer care representatives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Researches and authors New Product Launch information and forecasts new product support needs for all consumer products

 

Facilitates Train-the-Trainer sessions as well as product-specific knowledge training for in-house personnel

 

Writes instructional and training support documentation for all consumer products including features or specifications compatibility charts, hook-up and operation flowcharts, troubleshooting guides, user level bulletins, special instruction manuals, Frequently Asked Questions, and general memorandum that is deemed useful to JVC consumer product users

 

Assists in creating or updating new product information in AKBS as it becomes available in the New Product Launch database

 

Assists in evaluating pre-production samples for market suitability

 

Assists in the investigation of quality concerns and recommends modifications

 

Assists in the development of consumer product service support policies

 

Develops quality monitoring and feedback process for all consumer products

 

Manages training equipment inventory including products and other equipment utilized in training customer care representatives

Education and/or Experience  

 

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Electronics; or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

Language Skills

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or organization personnel.

 

 

Mathematical Skills  

 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

 

Reasoning Ability  

 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

 

Computer Skills

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge Windows and MAC environments, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Graphics Software, and Contact Management Systems.

 

Other  

 

This position may require up to 50% travel, including overnight, weekend, and air travel.
