Customs Regulatory Administrator

MKS is seeking a Customs Regulatory Administrator. The primary role of the Customs Regulatory Administrator is to provide support to the Transportation department in preparing for a pending focused assessment and identifying, recommending and initiating changes in all the described areas of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the integration of trade requirements into business processes to maximize outcomes, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory bodies where the company conducts business.
Specific areas of responsibilities will include:
· Conduct post entry compliance reviews, record recovery and supporting functions.
· Point of contact for Customs administration, record keeping, recovery and troubleshooting
· Collect, compile and document information necessary for supporting classification justification and update various systems as directed.
· Identify key opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of solutions to eliminate identified Customs compliance deficiencies.
· Maintain good working relationships and cooperate actively with Purchasing, Marketing, Accounting, Internal Audit, and Logistics; distribution centers; other outside companies and firms including ocean carriers, freight forwarders, Customhouse brokers, public warehouses, freight audit and payment firms, and third party providers; government bodies and their representatives specifically U.S. Customs.
· Use progressive techniques to create and sustain all aspects of world-class quality, accuracy, and completeness.
· Provide and maintain excellent service to internal and external customers.
· Assume additional related responsibilities as assigned and special projects as necessary.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of international shipping requirements, regulations, procedures and documentation
· Ability to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team environment.
· Has Demonstrated Analytical, problem solving skills and computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel.
· Ability to relate with employees, strong phone skills and ability to follow through and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
· Post secondary education preferred, diploma/certificate with a focus on international business or supply chain and logistics.
· Minimum 3 –5 years in Customs and trade administrative experience, or experience working for an importer, or a Customs Broker, or a combination thereof.
· Solid working knowledge of the US customs processes a definite asset.
· Domestic and International Travel
