Director, Media Relations

Job Description
Provide leadership and management skills, while acting as an individual contributor for MediaFLO USA's media relations team. The team's responsibility includes public relations, analyst relations and event management. Primary responsibilities of this position is to:

Develop, implement and manage on-going media relations strategies across consumer, trade, business and industry media.
Develop national and regional focused media relations plans that promote the FLO TV brand awareness and positions MediaFLO USA, the company, as an industry leader.
Identify and create opportunities to obtain media coverage for the FLO TV service to include our brand positioning and key messages.
Identify, strategize and execute partner related media relations opportunities with partners that include wireless carriers, consumer electronics, programming and wireless handset manufacturers
Develop and maintain media relations materials and kits including messaging, fact sheets, B-roll, etc.
Direct media relations internal SME and executive training
Direct company's crisis communications messaging efforts and readiness for crisis incidents
Create the development of executive speeches and/or develop presentations for use in public appearances
Develop and manage regional public affairs plans, messaging and event management in conjunction with other functional areas
Develop and manage internal employee communications working in partnership with human resources, marketing and other functional teams as necessary
Direct the development and on-going management of our analyst strategy to include analyst relationships and analyst program
Direct internal and external event and tradeshow strategies and execution
Manage and coordinate strategies within MediaFLO USA stakeholders and Qualcomm Corporation as the parent company working in conjunction with MediaFLO USAs established public relations agency.
Oversee agency relationship including day-to-day direction and strategy, budget and project management.
Serve as initial news media contact and spokesperson for targeted media.
Develop and maintain on-going external relationships with multiple MediaFLO USA partners including wireless distribution, consumer electronics, programming and handset manufacturers, along with key media outlets.


Skills/Experience
Minimum 20 years experience in public relations program management with a strong consumer emphasis and business to business experience with a product or service. Broadcast, media or entertainment and technology experience a plus. Additional marketing communications, sales or business development experience required. Candidate must have established relationships with consumer and business media along with experience in coordinating media events, including press conferences and tours. Candidate must exhibit an ability to manage both strategic and tactical position requirements. Candidate must exhibit superior strategic planning and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communications and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Individual must be a good team player with demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals within a highly-matrixed organization.

Additional Skills
Experience in entertainment, wireless communications, consumer software or hardware industries

Education Requirements
Minimum undergraduate degree in communications, business, marketing, or related subject. Advanced degree a plus.
