Director of Business Development
POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop and implement a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan to increase revenues and profits. Provide guidance to internal product development for developing new products and applications. Assist in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Manage the Company’s efforts to create new domestic and international business opportunities in current and new market segments.Establish, develop and implement a marketing strategy (and individual marketing campaigns) that target current and potential customers.Identify business opportunities, identify customer needs, and develop industry solutions.Perform market research and analysis.Furnish marketing advice, counsel and general staff support to all departments within the Company.Monitor internal and external environment for development of new product segments.Assist in, or produce, feasibility studies/business plans for new product development.Develop brochures or other print and/or electronic ads to market products and services.Completes all other reasonable duties, as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:Experience with advanced materials/applications (ceramic, composite, etc.) involving the Thermal Management, Wear, Automotive and other related industries.Minimum 7 years experience in new business development (domestic and international)Minimum BS degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing (Masters degree preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Strong technical and business background Solid industry contacts at multiple customer levels that will lead to salesAbility to interact daily with internal manufacturing and technical resourcesExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Excellent presentation skillsExcellent sales closing skillsBasic computer skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skillsWillingness to travel domestically and internationallyExcellent planning skillsSelf-starter
