We would like to consider your background for the position of Director of Freight Logistics. As a key member of the management team you will be responsible for providing import/export practices and controls and compliance with US Laws and Regulations as well as other agencies as required. EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree 7 plus years experience in transportation logistics with a minimum of 4 years experience in international transportation logistics in a manufacturing environment SKILLS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Extensive understanding of LTL, FTL, Air, Small Package, and Ocean transportation Interface with global customers and suppliers in the Americas, Asia, and Europe Knowlegeable in all areas of Export Control Laws and Regulations to include ITAR, EAR and licensing, re-exportation etc., embargoed destinations and parties, Antiboycott Laws and Regulations, and activities covered under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Excellent communication, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills Strong negotiation, organization, problem solving, and process improvement skills Ability to provide leadership and accountability Proven professional qualities including strong initiative, integrity, and the desire/ability to work in a team environment Will demonstrate strong accurate analytical and statistical skills Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and be available after normal business hours to get the job done Will demonstrate confidentiality RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide compliance and recommendations to employees and agents worldwide Oversee customs compliance manual and proper record keeping for all customs information Advise, establish, and educate on import and export procedures Monitor and administer NAFTA and other applicable Trade Agreements Recommend proper trade documentation, i.e. commercial invoices, export declaration, shipper's letter of instructions, letters of credit, contracts, purchase orders Manage Harmonized Tariff Schedule Work with external sources on applicable US Laws and Regulations in regards to compliance and adherence with Export Control Laws and Regualtions for products, technologies, and information Global education and training responsibilty in Customs and Regulatory compliance Ensure US government compliance laws and regulations are effectively communicated and adhered to by impacted global management Improve the profitability and efficiencies through the implemantation of standard work practices Responsible for transportation analysis and savings/cost opportunity analysis and the implemantation and management of cost analysis measures plan and monitor budgets Work with Division Managers to improve operational and performance metrics. Provide information, recommendations, and coordinate project implementation for transportation and logistics cost reduction opportunities. Identify and implement mode optimization opportunities Monitor and provide summary reporting on inbound and outbound core carrier compliance, low cost and lane award carrier compliance Manage air and expedite freight expenditures through adherence of corporate approval process Provide projections for inbound and outbound freight expenses by month and quater Ensure accurate forecasting of volume projections to core carriers Ensure timely submission of operation templates from carriers including a carrier scorecard, monthly reporting, and operational excellence projects Disseminate monthly carrier scorecards and monitor overall performance against scorecard goals and expectations Develop process and capable resources to effectively manage transportation costs, logistics costs and ensure compliance with import and export regulations Employee development and cross functional training REPORTS TO: VP of Material Syhstems MRINetwork is the largest and most successful search organization in the world.
