DIRECTOR of GLOBAL MARKETING

Franklin Electronic Publishers, Inc., Burlington, NJ, the worldwide market leader of handheld devices and linguistic correction software, seeks a high level marketing professional to ensure maximum profitability, growth and return on investment for the company and markets by effectively directing market planning, communication and trade marketing execution for products and markets. Other responsibilities include overseeing the corporate branding, positioning, creative activities and leveraging inter-office marketing activities.

Specialty Area: Consumer and Trade Promotions in US Retail

This position is accountable for implementation of marketing plans and associated marketing support for the US retail and education channels to achieve P&L goals for assigned products & categories.

Ongoing duties include overseeing the development of new markets, identifying business opportunities, increasing share of market and obtaining competitive market position by supporting business on daily basis, working cross functionally to optimize marketing mix and ROI through promotional activities, new channel development, public relations, advertising, consumer marketing, and sales collateral.

This is the key support position to sales and category management and will be deeply involved with identifying promotional opportunities, creating product demand, launching new products, and growing/defending retail space while creating/maintaining product presentation templates for trade presentations.

You will be vital in the planning and implementation of new product launches in conjunction with Category and Channel Management while developing expert understanding of key retailers strategies, program requirements, and plan-o-gram requirements to support Franklin initiatives and oversee all creative activities for the company.

To qualify, you must possess 10 years’ experience in strategic planning and marketing, (product development in consumer durables, consumer electronics/technology preferred) and a BA in Marketing or Business with an MS or MBA highly desirable. In addition, you must have successful experience in leading a sales/marketing team and a deep understanding of the retail channel required; understanding the education channels a plus.

Requirements also include:

** Proven ability to design new business and marketing strategy to increase revenues and drive to new market segments.

** Demonstrated leadership in motivating and leading a cross functional diverse work group through a variety of projects and tasks.

** Sound knowledge of consumer products marketing and retail channel.
** Excellent presentation and organizational skills required. Eye for detail is a must.

** Proficiency in MS Office especially PowerPoint and Excel.

** Significant project management skills. Must be a team player.

** Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high priority projects effectively.

** Experience with overseas markets
