Newark is looking for a highly motivated eCommerce Web Developer that would be the technical (development) lead responsible for the design, development, testing and support of eCommerce enterprise wide applications.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take a lead development role for eCommerce projects and assist the Global Development Team leaders with their duties. Global development, maintenance and support of eCommerce websites Coach and give direction to more junior members of the eCommerce development team with regard to development techniques, standards documentation and development methodology. Work to agreed project plans with regard to design, development, testing and implementation processes. Design and development of technical ?Proof of concepts? Design, development and demonstration of technical prototypes Document solutions in accordance with agreed quality standards. Ensure development is conducted in accordance with processes relating to Standards, Configuration Control, Project Lifecycle Methodologies, Quality Control and Documentation. Attend to critical queries and issues related to Premier Farnell web sites Liaise with the Business, other GBS Teams and GBS Management to facilitate the development and maintenance of existing systems Follow a structured development process when performing development, testing, and hand over of new implementations. Ensure clear and consistent communication at all times Assist with other Premier Farnell Projects where appropriate Act as a technical resource and point of contact for the business in technical matters Understand Division level eCommerce business needs, and requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 3?4 years commercial development experience using a wide range of development technologies to include: JSP, JAVA/J2EE, PL/SQL and Oracle Development Experience of Open Source technologies (Linux, Apache etc) Experience with ATG technologies desirable (e.g. Websphere, Dynamo, Weblogic, JBoss) Application server development experience required. A strong knowledge of search technologies A strong understanding of structured, object oriented development methodologies. Technical project lead experience. Knowledge of UI technologies (HTML/Javascript/CSS) Willing to learn new processes and apply to daily work. Working knowledge of Sun Solaris and UNIX environments. Experience developing solutions utilizing a source/version control system and an understanding of deployment issues Full development lifecycle experience Experience working in diverse global teams A background in Software engineering is highly desirable Degree qualified, preferably with honors or at the post graduate level
