ELECTRICAL ENGINEER V (46821)

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in electrical design and construction of commercial buildings and/or transit facilities. Power systems design experience highly desirable. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia, or possess the ability to obtain Georgia registration within six months. Highly effective verbal, analytical, and problem solving skills required. Two years experience in rapid rail transit, proficiency in using AutoCadd, and contract development and administration preferred. A Masters Degree may be substituted for one year of experience.

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Designs and/or reviews and comments on complex designs for electrical systems involving MARTA facilities construction, expansion of current sites, retrofitting, and additions and ensures that electrical designs adhere to MARTA design criteria and all applicable codes and standards. Investigates, identifies, and develops solutions to improve the safety, reliability, maintainability, and performance of all rail related equipment. These electrical systems include, but are not limited to electrical power, lightning protection, communications, fire alarm, lighting, and others. Proficiency in using AutoCad necessary.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia required, or possess the ability to obtain Georgia registration within six months.
