ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage technical development projects and personnel, both onsite and offsite, to provide electronics and controls for a diverse array of products and platforms

 

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

 Technical Project Management:  Scheduling, prioritizing, managing offsite work

Personnel Management:  Employee reviews, staffing requirements

Technical: Controls architecture, system partitioning, implementation partitioning.Ability to function within and influence a multi-disciplinary product development organizationFast-paced product development, leveraging projects to achieve multiple deliverablesSystem controls architect:  Ability to drive the conceptualization, simulation, prototyping and implementation of controls architectures in a timely and cost-effective manner

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Training: 

BS Electrical Engineering/MS Electrical Engineering

 

Experience:

Five years of management/supervisory experience, along with experience as a significant technical contributor and driver of implementation architectures

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Supervisory:  Provide personnel and technical leadership to development personnel:Personnel and project management to support multiple concurrent deliverablesTask tracking, prioritization, and reportingConflict resolution, decision making and ability to juggle multiple prioritiesBudgeting and cost containmentMentorship, both technical and otherwise

Technical:  Current embedded systems development experience with the following:Microprocessors, microcontrollers, or DSP (TI preferred)Firmware development with C(++) a plus.FPGA design with HDL’s (VHDL on Altera preferred)High speed board designAnalog and mixed signal circuit design & simulation.System-level interconnect and interface designControls systems concepts and fundamentals.Motion controls, Robotics or mechatronicsSensor interface and semi-custom sensor designOptoelectronics

Architecture:  Driving contributor in:System architecture development from concept to production.Requirements generation, Interface design, partitioningBuy vs build decisions, outsourced design managementDesign leverage 

Laboratory:  Hands-on development experience:Laboratory instrumentation (Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, Spectrum analyzers, Waveform generators, etc.Processor, FPGA, Analog, Interface and system level debugging skills
