Our industry is the fastest growing segment of the energy field and we are looking for individuals seeking a long term career in the wind Indsutry. the successful candidate will be responsible for learning how to advise electrical and fiber optic contractors as well as providing quality control on wind turbine commissioning. This position will at times also perform hands on commissioning activities. Must be able to travel to the various projects as needed to perform commissioning activities with a schedule of six weeks on the road for every two days home, will advise electrical and fiber optic contractors in company's procedures and policies, coordinate with documentation personnel to enhance manuals and procedures, will train with an Electrical Advisor to learn how to operate bolt torque equipment including manual operated torque wrenches with torque multipliers, hydraulic and electric torque machines, and hydraulic and electrical cable cutting/crimping tools. Be able to climb wind turbine generator towers for the purpose of lowering cables from nacelle to the ground in accordance with companys procedures. ensures that all portable equipment(generators, etc) are inspected and fueled each day, must understand proper techniques for towing portable equipment with work vehicles, be able to use electrical test equipment to verify resistance, amperage and voltage readings. Must have valid drivers license, must be able to climb multiple times on a daily basis, must be able to communicate in English both verbally and written, must be able to operate electrical test equipment to verify resistance, voltage and amperage readings. Climb towers up to 300' in height, lift 75lbs, utilize hand, electric and hydraulic torque wrenches, shovel dirt, snow as required, rappel off of towers up to 300' in height, ability to drive work vehicles in challenging locations, snow and ice, hear adequately to work safely in a construction environment. Working on wind turbine projects is a unique experience. The environments that most wind projects are located can some of the toughest in the world.
