Job Responsibilities:
We have immediate openings for our evening shift Electrical Maintenance position.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyzes equipment problems resulting from electrical power distribution circuits, electro-mechanical propulsion control systems, and electronic control systems. Installs, maintains, dismantles, repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds electrical and electronic equipment and components such as electric power distribution circuits, electric lighting, electric climate control systems, electric appliances, wiring, generators, controls, and electric trucks. Checks, adjust, fits, and modifies parts for repair and replacement. Fabricates repair parts with precision required to meet specifications. Reads and edits PLC programming. Examines such items as indicators lights, hand and foot controls, sensing devises, and emergency stop switches. Uses a wide variety of hand tools, equipment, and instruments in performing maintenance to specifications of wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, schematics and other instructions. Performs electrical maintenance work on facilities, grounds and utilities. Performs traditional electrical power/wire hook ups including bending conduit and trouble shooting. Performs electronic installation and trouble shooting. Also is responsible for the automated equipment operations, setup, and maintenance. Obtains and uses correct materials, supplies or parts from designated locations. Performs preventive maintenance including cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating equipment following schedules of periodic maintenance. Checks and tests systems for correct operation. The individual must demonstrate an ability to cope in stressful situations, follow policies and procedures, and be committed to the task.
Checks to be sure safety devises are in place and in proper operation. Inspects for and reports needed repairs to supervisor. Places materials, parts, tools, fixtures and equipment in proper locations. Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly. Maintains regular attendance in accordance with the current Attendance Policy. Directs and assists trainees and other personnel. Records information on forms for record keeping purposes. Sketches wiring schematics. Performs similar duties of a comparable nature as required. May handle plant waste, both hazardous and non-hazardous, in a manner which will insure compliance with local, Nebraska Department of Environmental control (NDEC), and EPA regulations. Hazardous waste handling may include any of the following: Drying wastes, containerizing wastes, moving wastes in-plant, and offering wastes for shipment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
-Two year electrical/electronic or equivalent education, plus three years related work experience.
-Must be familiar with standard recognized troubleshooting practices.
-Must be able to reference National Electrical Codes.
SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS
-Ability to work safely, use good judgment, and work well individually and with others.
-Ability to maintain quality and productivity standards.
-Ability to write and count in order to keep complete records.
-Ability to understand complex electrical/electronics equipment and circuits.
-Ability to operate robotics equipment.
-Ability to read and edit complex materials, checklist, blueprints, diagrams,sketches and PLC progamming.
-Ability to operate CAD.
-Basic computer knowledge.
-Must have the ability to communicate, including verbal and written English.
Must be trained and certified in Lock Out Tag Out and Electrical Safe Work Practices.
-Must have knowledge of National Electrical codes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
-Heavy work. Ability to move 65 lbs maximum.
-Ability to exert heavy pressure when using tools. Including pushing and pulling.
-Ability to maneuver heavy equipment with the assist of hoists, etc.
-Ability to remain on feet for an eight or 11.5 hour period. Standing and walking is the dominate activity.
-Abiltiy to operate forklift and other material handling equipment and successfully complete
standardized exam for its operation.
-Ability to climb a ladder.
-Ability to work in awkward positions. Stooping, crouching, kneeling, squatting and crawling is performed on a regular basis.
-Two handed work is required to repair and install electrical equipment.
-Overhead forward and side reaching at a variety of heights.
-Must visually read printed material, adjust equipment and inspect work performed.
-Fine manipulation with use of hands when working with tools and electrical wiring.
-Ability to use computer and have keyboarding skills.
