Electrical Tech- Long Beach, CA

Performs scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repairs on company equipment in the field, tank farms, pump stations and offices. Responsible to Field Supervisor, District Manager, Control Center and Field Engineers. Responsibilities:This position schedules and performs inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment at substations, pump stations and tank farms. Keep up with equipment maintenance cost of operations, tests and insures correct operation of transmitter, safety and protective devices. Performs any electrical repairs needed by Pipeline Control Center or Operations. Insures correct operation of switchgear, substations equipment and technology, motors, valve operators/actuators and tank gauging equipment. Insures correct operation of metering equipment.  Assists operators in assuring that all field units operate in correct fashion. Plans and installs new field units and helps with communications installations.Performs mandated tests and maintains associated records. Is responsible for regulatory/code compliance (NEC, NIOSH, NEMA, local codes) of all electrical installations. Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to speak, read and write English and perform basic math. Must be able to read and comprehend technical operational manuals, do load studies and related calculations. Should be familiar with different electrical test equipment associated with meters, meggers and scopes. Also must be familiar with basic tools and electrical tools.
