Electronic technician/ Assembler
Description
Must be able to troubleshoot to component level using schematics, technical publications and test equipment.
Identify the symptoms
Perform power check
Capable of applying a signal tracing technique to isolate to a single circuit
Perform input and output voltages
Duties will include touch-up soldering, thru-hole, fine pitch, and re-work soldering
Performs any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems: Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies. Positions and aligns parts in specific relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device. Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment. Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on to printed circuit boards. Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering irons or related equipment.
Must be able to operate a wide range of test equipment used to troubleshoot, repair and solder electronic circuit boards.
Must have a degree in electronics, or have formal training/certificate, and/or military training as a bench level electronics technician
Must have an understanding in setup and use basic test equipment including O-Scopes, Digital Millimeters, Ohmmeter and DC power supplies.
Must have the ability to test and verify electronics assemblies and sub-assemblies using technical manuals, written instruction, and schematics. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and isolate failure to the component level.
