Electro-Mechanical Technician
VALENITE has an immediate openings for Electro-Mechanical Technicians, 2nd shift, at the Westminster, South Carolina site.
Key Performance Areas:
The Electro-mechanical technicians will lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, wire, modify, and maintain all electrical equipment including computer-controlled and numerically controlled equipment, programmable controllers, solid state control devices, microprocessors, robotic systems, measuring and sensing instrumentation systems, power supply circuits and switching devices.
Main responsibilities include: Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, charts, tables, specifications, manufacturer handbooks, etc. to plan work sequence preparing sketches as required.Test faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction. Test electrical components and circuits to locate, diagnose, and remedy defects using dual trace oscilloscope, analog and digital meters, transistor checker, frequency electromechanical devices as required.Calibrate, adjust, align, and/or modify electronic circuitry and components, record effects on performance, and make recommendations concerning the improvement of efficiency and quality to assist in the resolution of operating problems encountered, and consult and work with specialists/engineers on experimental or exploratory problems.
Equipment Used: All electronic and electrical trade tools, miscellaneous power tools, powered mobile equipment, work platforms, ladders, printed circuit processing equipment, electronic and electrical, measuring and calibrating equipment, miscellaneous hand tools, soldering iron, clerical supplies, safety equipment as required, etc.
Your Profile:
This position requires an individual with a two year degree from an approved electronic trade school plus a minimum of five years experience in the field of industrial maintenance. A documented work history in Industrial Electronics could be considered in lieu of a degree. The successful applicant will be very familiar with industrial electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. The focus of this position is to troubleshoot, repair and install a variety of machinery and systems including CNC grinders, high vacuum furnaces, presses, robots, and precision measuring equipment. The work environment is very flexible and can include a variety of other tasks normally associated with a general maintenance technician. An aptitude for diagnosing and repairing high precision mechanical equipment is a must.
Licenses required:
Must possess valid SC motor vehicle operator's license.
Must complete and possess Valenite Powered Industrial Truck Operator Certification
