Electronics Mfg. R&D Engineer

ACI, a leading scientific R&D organization dedicated to the advancement of electronics manufacturing processes for the Department of Defense and the U.S. industrial base, is seeking an experienced engineer to join its talented staff to assist in the execution of advanced R&D projects.

Duties include:

Conducts R&D or design projects (primarily electronics manufacturing technology applied R&D projects in support of U.S. Navy systems) within team objectives including the development and documentation of project test plans and the formulation of tasking plans in support of the project statement of work. Develops assigned operating processes and procedures utilized in analytical testing and engineering analysis.

 

Applies conventional techniques in process evaluation, engineering analysis, failure analysis, and troubleshooting making adaptations and modifications to arrive at specified objectives. Conducts failure analysis of electronic materials and prepares, documents, and presents appropriate results. 

 

Assists in R&D project plan development in support of DOD systems affordability and performance objectives. Works with DoD prime system integrators in the planning, execution, and implementation of technology improvements.   



Education/Experience:

B.S. Degree and a minimum of seven years professional experience

Experience with the following is extremely helpful:

Electronics testing of materials and components Wafer fab (process) Flip chip Multi-chip modules Solid state physics Failure analysis

Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
