Electronics Technician Intern

Electronics Technician Intern Battelle is a world leader in science and technology research. Our Electronics and Avionics Systems (EAS) Product Line specializes in the design, development, fabrication, and integration of complex electronic systems. EAS is seeking an Electronics Technician Intern in Columbus, Ohio for part-time hourly work between the hours of 8am-5pm M-F. A fixed work schedule will be dependent upon current class schedule. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. Relocation support is not available. The selected candidate will work in Columbus, Ohio. The primary job responsibilities will include: - Assemble Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA), electronic systems and electromechanical sub-assemblies - Fabricate and integrate cable and wire harness assemblies - Create and modify the documentation packages associated with our design, fabrication, and assembly efforts - Provide miscellaneous project support and general laboratory support as required Candidate resumes must demonstrate the following minimum requirements in order to be forwarded for consideration: - Applicants must be currently pursing an AS in Electronic Engineering Technology or Electro-Mechanical Engineering technology with a minimum of 32 hours of coursework completed, pursuit of a BSEET will also be considered. GPA and availability must be included in the applicant's submission. - Experience assembling electronic and electromechanical equipment, Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA), cable and wire harnesses, and electronic enclosure/subassemblies are highly desired - Strong soldering skills with the ability to solder both through hole and surface mount components is a plus - Mechanical aptitude and strong mechanical assembly skills are beneficial - Process oriented, able to understand and follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, schematics, and wire lists - Able to work well with multidisciplinary engineering and production groups - A positive attitude and eagerness to take on technical challenges are essential to this position. Applicant must have good verbal and written communication abilities and interpersonal skills. - Sole U.S. citizenship is required.
