Electronics Test Technician

We have an immediate opportunity for an Electronics Test Technician.

 

JOB SUMMARY:  

  This position requires the application of advanced mathematics for the solution of trouble shooting problems that may be encountered during the testing of complex assemblies. Assures that outgoing product meets required performance characteristics and identifies, analyzes and resolves quality problems in a timely manner.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and document acceptance test procedures and/or review engineering developed procedures to insure they meet the criteria required by drawing or specifications.

2. Perform or assist in environmental/first article, first article review, planning, and implementation when required.  Perform special testing (preproduction, reliability, etc.) as directed.

3. Train production testers on specific jobs.  Build or coordinate building of prototype units, first articles, or special production units.  Repair/calibrate test fixtures as required.  Perform non-specialized visual/mechanical inspection.

4. Set up and perform product acceptance testing in accordance with established procedures.  Provide necessary assistance to Commercial/Industrial customer representatives for the performance of required source inspections.

5. Perform failure analysis of defective product (both in-house and returned product) and determination of defect causes.  Perform in-process surveillance of test, materials and processes in accordance with established procedures.  Document test, material and process evaluations performed.  Report all non-conformances..

6. Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.

7. Troubleshoot and repair of failed electronic units.

 

STANDARDS/SKILLS

1. Maintain responsibility for all technical aspects of assigned projects.

2. Independently develop concepts for new and original projects and present them for management review..

3. Ability to work overtime as requested.

4. Ability to perform precision soldering.

5. Ability to read schematics.

 

 

This is not a maintenance electrician – this position requires previous experience testing and troubleshooting electronic circuit boards.  Only local candidates will be considered.
