Role[Q4] :

QCT's software applications engineers support customers with understanding, integrating, testing and optimizing performance of software features for ASICs supporting a variety of air interfaces and other related technologies including multimedia.

The role requires interfacing with handset developers, base-station inter-operability testing partners and wireless carriers worldwide. Training, publishing application notes, assisting customers with software integration, development, and system debugging, are some of the key daily activities in this role.

Acting as the key liaison between QCT engineering and customers, customer engineers interact with marketing, SW developers, test engineering and sales to ensure customer products are received favorably and on time in the marketplace.

It is a very challenging position requiring the candidate to learn and internalize QCT software and operation concepts very quickly, supporting a wide range of software discussion (e.g. ranging from low level embedded software issues to carrier level features deployment and planning). It exposes the candidate to the key players in the wireless industry worldwide and places him or her right in the heart of the dynamism of 3G wireless deployment. Skills/Experience
Experience in Multimedia software development/applications engineering for Linux or Windows Mobile based Embedded systems. Experience in OpenMax or DirectShow architectures.

Embedded systems for multimedia (audio, video) software, multimedia device.

Strong C programming and debugging skills required. C++ and Component programming experience a plus.

Experience with Display driver design, interface verification and 2D graphics operations.

Software integration, optimization and debugging on embedded RTOS (real time operating systems).

Strong communication skills - able to understand and explain highly technical information in a clear and concise manner. Strong interpersonal skills, Self starter, Strong initiative.


Additional Skills
Experience with mobile handset development is preferred.

Experience in Linux Driver development for Multimedia ( Audio/Video/Display etc ).
Experience in Windows Mobile display driver development using Direct Draw.

Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.


Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
