Engineer, Mechanical LED

Job Responsibilities:

• Individual will research, develop, design, and test mechanical components, equipment and systems.

• Work within a design team to develop Juno Lighting Group (JLG) product utilizing LED technology.

• Work with purchasing and product management in order to select the best Light-Emitting Diode (LED) packages and components to meet performance requirements on all projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and systems required to develop LED products that are defined on the LED roadmap.

• Facilitate the design process to develop products jointly with JLG engineering (multiple locations) while following the JLG product development process.

• Meet or exceed schedule timelines for product development projects.

• Ensure new products meet or exceed the product specifications while adhering to product and project cost targets.

• Stay abreast of and participate in evolving solid state lighting technological developments.

• Assist in supplier selection process to obtain quality components and/or assemblies.

• Create layouts, 3D models and assemblies, and complete component drawings using 3D CAD software.

• Develop new product specifications that comply with industry standards and project requirements.

• Prepare and follow-up on the preparation of design drawings and prepare estimates of development costs.

• Prepare and release proper documentation for assigned projects.

• Create, execute and summarize test and evaluation plans for assigned projects.

• Follow-up on the building of pilot production lots.

• Plan, schedule and report daily / monthly activities.

• Ability to create detailed engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

• Pro/E 3-d design experience or other 3-d modeling experience.
