Engineer, Mechanical Senior

Job Responsibilities:
This position within the Nashville Design Center is located in Seneca South Carolina and will be responsible for mechanical engineering support of US designed Low Voltage Motor Control Centers (LVMCC), Enclosed Drives and Medical Products (Isolated Power Systems) manufactured in multiple countries including the USA, Canada and Mexico and supplied to customers all over the world. Occasional foreign travel may be required.

The position requires a BSME or BSEE and 2-4 years as a project lead with strong problem solving abilities. MSME or MSEE and PE preferred. Must be able to:


• Understand customer needs, competitor products, and technical trends.

• Demonstrate a familiarity with best in class engineering techniques such as FMEA, DFA/DFM, Six Sigma Processes and Risk Analysis.

• Understand and design electrical power products, including the electrical and mechanical design of conductor systems.

• Understand manufacturing processes, material properties and the design of plastic moldings, castings and sheet steel parts using six-sigma techniques.

• Develop parts and products using 3D parametric CAD (Inventor preferred).

• Optimize design performance and cost.

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of industrial standards, quality and safety requirements.

• Understand the importance and impact of intellectual property.

• Utilize software tools to simulate, model and analyze products.

• Design experiments and measure and analyze results.

Knowledge of electrical distribution and/or motor control equipment is strongly preferred. The company is English speaking but a foreign language would be a plus.
