Position Description:Broadcom is developing solutions supporting the next generation of 3G and 4G high-speed mobile technologies. As part of the CellAirity™ Mobile Platform, Broadcom offers a family of HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access), EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) baseband processors for use in cellular handsets, PC cards and other wireless-enabled consumer electronics.The candidate will design, implement, automate and execute product validation test cases for multimedia applications and connectivity (Bluetooth, USB) for handsets or embedded modules. The candidate must be able to formally document and communicate test schedules, test plans and test results. Interaction with customers and some on-site customer support/debugging is expected. Participation in continuous process improvement and defect prevention activities is expected. Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 6 years of related experience or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of related experience.- 3+ years experience with 2G and 3G multimedia applications (Bluetooth, Media Player, USB, WLAN) is required.- Should have experience working with these applications in a wireless environment, including GSM/GPRS, or UMTS networks.- Should have tested above technologies in a concurrent test environment with GSM/GPRS/WCDMA protocols. Experience with those air interfaces and their protocol layers is a big plus.- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PERL/Tcl required - Knowledge of multimedia Audio/Video codecs and standards (JPEG, MPEG, H.263, RTSP, HTTP) is a plus.- Must possess good communication skills.Additional Skills:Test experience (a strong understanding of test methodology), understanding of the software development cycle, and experience with wireless test equipment or telecommunications systems are all preferred. Low level knowledge of the data protocol stack (PPP, IP, TCP) is a plus. Application interoperability (IOT) experience with carriers, OEMs, vendors and test forums a big plus.
