Engineering Documentation Manager
Job Summary: Responsible for the management of a variety of documentation engineering services functions which could include document control, technical publications, product life cycle management, business process development or similar engineering and business support activities. Ensures the timely, thorough and accurate completion of all projects. Supports the preparation of new or modified designs. Ensures documentation packages are accurate and complete. Manages the activities of product documentation. Uses the MRP system to produce and maintain engineering/manufacturing documentation such as drawings, bills of material, parts list specifications, and engineering change orders. Ensures that master drawing files and history files are accurate and current, and that effective control is maintained over drawings and other document records.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for organizing, planning, scheduling, and staffing a multi-disciplined documentation control and technical publishing group to provide the highest quality product and designs.
· Provides overall resource management and schedule reporting.
· Oversees all document control efforts to meet quality standards and operational excellence objectives.
· Establishes documentation standards and methodologies.
· Participates in the direct the development of and execution of departmental budgets and staffing plans.
· Makes presentations to senior project management and customer personnel.
· Interfaces with various internal and external customers regarding design issues.
· Works with individuals at all levels and in all departments of the company to develop and implement processes designed to improve performance throughout the business.
· Manages team member’s effectiveness, job satisfaction, career development, performance evaluations, training, etc.
· Explains company policies and regulations to subordinates, maintains effective personnel relationships, and recommends changes in employee status.
· Provides training on business process and tools in the areas of product documentation, PLM business processes, and other areas of responsibility.
· Recommends changes to policy.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities when required.

Computer Skills and/or Tools: MS Office, PLM – Omnify or Agile or equivalent, MRP - Expandable, or equivalent, miscellaneous design and documentation tools.
Qualifications/Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
· Must have the vision and drive to establish the processes and controls necessary to meet the continued growth of the company.
· A minimum of five (10) years of experience managing a staff of 10 direct reports is required.
· A strong background in managing document control, bill of material maintenance including engineering changes (ECO's), and PLM.
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent collaborative skills.
· Excellent math aptitude and analytical ability.
· Ability to learn new software products and hardware environments.
· Aptitude and desire to learn new products and technologies.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s of Science degree and ten (10) years of job applicable related experience.
