Job Description:

 The engineering team that creates the world's most advanced bare wafer and un-patterned monitor wafer inspection equipment is looking for a mechanical engineer to join the engineering team in the development of an exciting new product.

The successful candidate will work with senior engineers in the development of critical mechanical subsystems, from the concept design phase through test and characterization, product release and sustaining.  The candidate will be challenged to create cost effective, reliable, precision mechanical systems which are also highly manufacturable and serviceable.

Activities will include working with cross functional groups to define subsystem specifications, design, analyze, prototype and test to these specifications, work with vendors to manufacture the subsystems, and support the roll out of the product into manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about hard technical challenges and must be a very strong hands on engineer.

 

Essential qualifications:
BSME with 3-5 years industry experience or MSME with 1-3 years industry experience in mechanical design, analysis, test and performance verification.  An understanding of first order optics is beneficial.Strong fundamental analytical skills in mechanical engineering with the ability to apply those skills to mechanical design and to subsystem development, integration, and testing.

- Micro-contamination control
- Experimental methods and data acquisition, LabView preferred
- Semiconductor equipment industry
- 3D CAD, CoCreate OneSpace Designer preferred
- FEA: static, dynamic, thermal
- CFD: flow patterns, recirculation, heat transfer

Must work well in a matrixed environment, have good communication skills, and work well in a team.  He/She will be expected to contribute with some direction from other technical staff but must be a self-starter.  As experience is gained, the candidate will be expected to support manufacturing and the field during product introductions and provide sustaining help as needed after product release.  Some travel is required.
