Strategy & Operations Deloitte Consulting's Strategy & Operations Service Area works with senior management to help make major decisions and implement improvements that dramatically increase the performance of our clients' business by focusing on 'executable strategy' and by integrating industry and functional knowledge in corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, customer relationships, technology, financial management, supply chain, and operations. Financial Management Deloitte Consulting's Financial Management Service Line focuses on the needs of the CFO and the finance function. As the role of finance evolves within an organization, balancing the need to be both a strategist and a steward, finance organizations will need to transform their processes, people, and analytic tools in order to manage these changes effectively. These changes include streamlining finance operations by increasing the efficiency of the finance organization and improving the effectiveness of finance by integrating performance management and analytic applications, such as performance scorecarding, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities. Job Description Support Financial Management activities as part of the Deloitte Consulting Strategy & Operations practice. Provide subject matter expertise based on previous experience with tactical financial management processes, as well as CXO-level strategic direction for financial management. Conduct analyses of client's financial management processes and operations, supporting information systems, and leading practices to identify opportunities for improved performance, increased effectiveness and efficiency, and cost reduction within a client organization or business area, and support implementation activities. Manage engagement delivery teams. Interact with client personnel and Deloitte senior leadership in the accomplishment of project objectives. Qualifications - Eight or more years of work experience in the public sector, with focus on financial management, accounting and/or budgeting - Established team leader and manager with experience advising clients and presenting solutions. - Ability to define scope, develop work plan, and manage to that work plan for work streams within a project - Ability to facilitate client meetings and workshops to define client processes and needs - Ability to comfortably interact with senior level client personnel, including supporting the preparation of and participating in executive briefings - Strong written and oral communications skills - Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus - Prior consulting experience strongly preferred - US federal experience strongly preferred, either through federal employment, military service, or consulting to federal agencies. Preferred Skills - Experience developing business cases to demonstrate costs and benefits of recommendations. - Strong analytical skills (e.g., use of Microsoft Excel and/or Access to analyze data) - Strong presentation development and writing skills (e.g., proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word) - Knowledge U.S. federal financial regulations - Familiarity with U.S. government and DoD financial accounting systems Education Requirements - Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, public administration, or a related discipline preferred. - Graduate degree (i.e., MBA, MPA) preferred. Other Requirements - Active U.S. government security clearance or the ability to obtain a US government security clearance.
