Job Title:  Field Service Technician

Reports to: Field Service Manager

Department: Field Services

 

Position Summary:

The Scientific Games Field Technician is responsible for the completion of assigned service calls at a lottery retailer’s

location. These include scheduled calls; Installs, Removals and Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) and unscheduled

calls; service and supplies as initiated by the retailer.  Averaging 7 – 10 service calls per day.  Starting wage: $13.25 to $15.75/hr, depending on experience.  This is a full-time position with benefits.  Company vehicle provided.  Must pass background check, drug test, have a good driving record and be able to work rotating shifts.Key Responsibilities

· Excellent time management skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision.

· Be able to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

· Excellent Customer Service skills.

· Be able to effectively communicate with National Call Center, co-workers, Supervisor, and Field Service Manager.

· Able to lift up to 65 pounds

· Respond to service calls assigned from Dispatch, or Manager, in a safe and timely manner according to the assigned priority.

· Provide complete and accurate documentation for all service calls.

· Conduct PM/supply visits between service calls. Clean and test terminals using set procedures. Review supply inventory and replenish as necessary.

· Able to safely ascend/descend a ladder of up to a height of 40 feet.

· Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all communication issues, including VSAT, and other communication types up to point of demarcation. Be able to provide detailed information to appropriate group(s).

· Able to properly terminate coax and network cable.

· Must follow all Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety procedures.

· Able to install inside wiring (coax and network) in a neat and professional manner. Installation may include cable installed above ceilings, and inside walls. All cable must be secure and neat.Technical Skills

· Be able to diagnosis and repair Lottery terminals in a quick and timely manner. Repairs must meet Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. Resolve any problems through onsite repairs or replacement of equipment or sub assembly.

· Have basic Microsoft (MS) Windows knowledge, and be able to navigate through Windows using a keyboard, mouse and/or touch interface.

· Fully understand ping command and processes required to test IP circuits.

· Understand communication configuration(s).  Be able to diagnosis and repair common communication failures and provide detailed and accurate information to appropriate parties.

· Understand and be able to troubleshoot and take corrective action on all communication hardware including (but not limited to) in-door-unit (IDU), hubs, routers and modems.

· Understand and be able to test VSAT system using assigned test equipment.

· Be able to test, repair and/or replace Network cable and connectors. May require use of ladder to access cable and/or related equipment.
