Field Service Technician - On line parking and access control systems

Description: Installation and Field Service Technician for computer based parking and access control systems.

 

Duties: 

*Installation of parking control system equipment that includes barrier gates, ticket dispensers, pay-on-foot stations and system PC's.  Access control for commercial buildings and gated communities including slide and swing gates, telephone entry stations, and card access systems.  Installation of control and data cabling and hook-up of same to make systems operational.  Service to existing and new accounts.

 

*Documents service and installation actions by completing required forms, reports and travel logs

 

*Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and procuring components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests

 

*Position requires the ability to read and follow manufacturers installation, setup and service instructions for many different types of control systems we install and service.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

Basic electrical and electronics knowledge used in trouble shooting,  Working knowledge of Windows based PC,  good electro-mechanical aptitude, good driving record and ability to pass low level security clearance.  Must have own tools used in this type of work.




We are not looking for IT personnel, but rather candidates that have control wiring and data wiring experience and are familiar with control circuits, relays and low voltage components such as transformers.  This position involves outside work, that includes installation of the equipment, pulling and terminating cabling that is required, and some PC knowledge of Windows XP and other operating systems.




This  position  involves  installation and servicing on-line based parking revenue and management systems that include Pay Stations (similar to ATM's), card access systems, and basic gate systems.




Candidate  must  know how  to  use basic power tools (hammer drills, electric drills, etc)
electronic multi meter for measuring  AC and DC voltages, etc.





Although this is a technical position, it does require some manual work when moving or installing the equipment.  Please note that some of the equipment is heavy and candidates should not have any physical impairments  for  doing this type of work. 





This position will also requires the candidate to be our customer relations person when performing service or installation in the field. Completing service and delivery tickets, daily trip sheet and other documentation.



All training will be provided and will include direct factory training from our various manufacturers.  Company  vehicle  will be provided during the work day.  A clean driving record is a must.  Candidates will be required to provide documentation from motor vehicle department.
