HASS Engineer

Advanced Energy is a global leader in innovative power and control technologies for high-growth, thin-film manufacturing and solar power generation.  Specifically, AE targets semiconductors, solar cells, flat panel displays, data storage products, architectural glass, solar grid-tie inverters and other advanced applications.

 

We have an immediate need for a Test Engineer III to support our manufacturing HASS Chambers.  The right candidate will have extensive HASS experience and excellent LabVIEW skills.  In this position you will design, develop, and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. Test Engineers make knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employ innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure testability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing and field use.
- Accurately estimate project costs as associated with implementing test solutions.
- Own the test requirements from the vendor to shipment to the customer.
- Verify products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens.

- Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for new products.
- Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment.

SKILLS:
Must have strong problem-solving attributes.

Able to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentation.

Capable in test hardware and software development.

Strong at communicating with and influencing design teams, vendors, and customers.

EXPERIENCE:
Greater than 5 years of relevant design/development team and/or manufacturing support.

Proven ability to methodically solve complex, technical issues.

Demonstrated proficiency in NI LabVIEW test application development.

EDUCATION:
Essential:
Bachelors Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
Desirable:
6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology
