Photometrics has a position available for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with proven experience in host software development. As a critical member of our team, you’ll be integral to the creation of next-generation digital scientific cameras. You’ll be responsible for the development of camera device drivers and imaging application software in both Windows and Macintosh environments.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Design and development of Windows and Macintosh device drivers.Development of host application and middleware software for high-speed data acquisition and imaging applications.The architecture and creation of next-generation software systems for our continuously evolving digital camera product line.Maintenance of existing software products.The creation and maintenance of design documentation for new and existing software designs as necessary.Work within a team of engineers to accomplish development goals. Interface with the customer service department and third-party software developers to resolve technical problems, provide information, and further improve products.Prepare project time estimates, work on quotations.Organization and maintenance of the software development toolchain.

 Required Skills & Experience:

2+  years C/C++ and object oriented development experience. 2+ years experience writing device drivers and multithreaded user level applications for Macintosh OS 9/OS X and Windows NT/2000/XP. Familiarity with Firewire IEEE-1394a preferred. Data Communications experience (preferably TCP, UDP, IP and Ethernet) preferred.Intimate knowledge of the software development cycle, including version control systems.Demonstrated success developing software used to control hardware and acquire and process high speed data in real time in an instrumentation manufacturing company. Track record of maintaining quality standards for the team and developing quality products on schedule that meet requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skills.Self-motivated, with the ability to learn quickly and independently, and work well within a team. Technical knowledge and experience with CCD based camera designs, CMOS, and other modern imaging technologies preferred.

 Education:

 

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or higher.
