HVAC Technician III

Job Description
Responsible for the HVAC system maintenance and service calls related to commercial office buildings, electrical engineering lab environments and Central Plants. Performs work and operates one or more of the following pieces of equipment or systems: Air Handlers, VAV units, Fan Coils, Boilers, DX and Package units, Centrifugal Pumps, Centrifugal Chillers, and Cooling towers

Skills/Experience
. Respond to office, Lab and Central Plant temperature related problems, equipment failures, and leaks related to condensate, closed loop heating hot water/ chill water and refrigerant systems.
. Interact with Qualcomm internal customers to provide updates and status of HVAC systems.
. Must be familiar with 'Building Automation Systems' and have the ability to navigate and control HVAC units and devices utilizing these systems.
. Ability to read commercial building blueprints and understand piping flow diagrams and Piping, Instrument Diagrams.
. Interfaces with contractors, consultants, receives and evaluates quotes and proposals and provides recommendations.
. Orders parts and materials required for HVAC systems repairs or upgrades.
. Provides training to Facilities Maintenance Technicians and Facilities Electricians.
. Employee may be required to drive company vehicle or personal vehicle between buildings as required.
. Must be willing to perform other non HVAC related duties as directed by supervision.


Additional Skills
Requires a minimum of 5 years experience as a Journeyman level HVAC Technician and refrigerant recovery certification for type I, II and III. Must have basic knowledge of computer programs including email, documents and spreadsheets. Valid and current CA driver's license required. Requires minimal supervision.
