Job Responsibilities:
This position is accountable for implementation and interpretation of existing Human Resource policies for local employees and management on a day-to-day basis. Oversees the administration of recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, safety and personnel research, governmental reporting, employee relations and the labor agreement for the location. Serves as a resource and maintains positive employee/labor relations through employee activities, employee recognition programs, career development, and/or communication forums. Provides guidance concerning matters with employee discipline and conflict resolution. Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned HR staff. Provides guidance in matters of employment law. Supervises and ensures reporting requirements are completed in areas such as EEO, Affirmative Action plans, employment and employee separation. Manages administration and interpretation of the labor agreement for both employees and management. May provide assistance with the preparation of arbitrations, communicate with the local bargaining unit, and assist with labor agreement negotiations.
