IT Records Manager

 

Manages and audits the corporate Records Management program. Provides necessary leadership to develop and implement a Records Management program.  Develops and maintaines Lincoln's Records Management strategy and policy.

 

Develops records retention schedules incorporating legal, regulatory and operational requirements.  Researches legal and governmental requirement and works with department subject matter experts to develop effective retention schedules.  Ensures disposition procedures are being followed.

 

Evaluates and makes recommendations concerning software and systems to improve efficiencies. Helps write functional specifications and participates in the design and implementation of records management and document management systems.  

 

Manages the electronic discovery (eDiscovery) process to support Legal Department litigation. 

 

Chairs the records Retention Committee. Acts as a liason to the General Counsel on Records Management issues.

 

Provides Training on Records Management policy and procedure.  "Go-to" Records Management expert on a day to day basis for Corporate Records Policy.  Provides training to Records Retention Committee Members as required. Educates Executive Management on Records Management policy, benefits and risks.

 

Position Requirements

 

Bachelors degree in information science, records management, computer science or equivalent relevant experience.

 

At least 7 years of relevant experience.  Relevant experience includes:  Development of a corporate records management program and systems from start to finish.  Implementation and enforcement of records retention policies and procedures.  Management of electronic discovery (e-discovery) processes to support litigation needs. Excellent oral written communications skills. Comfortable working with executive management.  Ability to manage large cross functional projects.

 

Certified in Records Management (CRM) a plus.
