Integration & Automation Engineer
The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an Integration and Automation Engineer in our R&D division to work in a team environment developing innovative, simple, and robust products. If you have demonstrated successful experience in system integration design, SCADA development, communication system design, HMI design, and/or controls system development, we invite you to consider joining our technical team. Integration & Automation Engineer Responsibilities: Lead the design and specification of integration and automation features in protective relays. Write design verification tests, and lead technicians in conducting tests. Create user documentation. Provide technical support. Participate in industry technical meetings and conferences. Write and present papers at technical conferences. Mentor technicians and other engineers. Provide technical analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements. Perform analysis and tests on competing products. Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians. Qualifications: BS or advanced engineering degree Minimum 3 years working knowledge of electric power or industrial system integration and automation practices and philosophies Experience with broad range of network devices and network interfaces including configuration and setup Ethernet experience, multi-protocol experience Familiarity with at least two of the following protocols: IEC 61850, UCA 2.0, DNP3.0, IEC 60870-103, -101, -104, DeviceNet, and Modbus Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Preferred Qualifications: Four years working knowledge of electric power SCADA or EMS practices Industrial controls and PLCs Experience with network security technologies Electric utility telecommunications Working knowledge of HMI software products Electric utility protection practices Working knowledge of SEL products An Award Winning Company Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
