Junior service engineer (Automation)

Job description:

Position under supervision of the Service Manager.

Our Junior service engineer will be based in Appleton, WI. The position will start as a support position including: Customer phone support, including troubleshooting Regular exchanges with tech center Diagnosis and repair of control-command equipment (regulation) including electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment (automation, computer automation, mechanics) Spare parts management (stock, sales administration, shipment) Training provided.

 

Qualifications: Proficient in PLC ladder logic programming, preferably Siemens and Allen Bradley Experience and proficiency with Bill of Materials (BOM), Schematics, and Electrical Drawings. Knowledge of AutoCAD software/viewer Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software, such as Word and Excel, powerpoint and outlook Experience installing Microsoft Windows Operating Systems Experience installing and troubleshooting computer hardware and software Experience of oscilloscopes Excellent customer service skills Capable of training Good interpersonal skills Possess good written and oral communications skills Possess good time management skills Knowledge or experience in heavy industry a plus (Foundry, Steelmaking, other metallurgy)   Experience with SAP or other ERP software a plus, but not required French speaking a plus

 

Evolution:

After adequate training, the position will normally evolve into a Service Engineer position, requiring a variety of engineering skills and up to 50% traveling (Nafta) to support control-command equipment (regulation) including electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. The evolved position may require fields reports writing (internal use and customer) and customer technical follow-up for a pro-active approach to customer service.
