Laser Scanning Hardware Department Manager

A rapidly growing technology and services company desires to hire a highly motivated and organized individual to lead its Laser Scanning Hardware Department.  We are an exciting high growth company with a global customer base, good benefits, and a relaxed work atmosphere where a talented individual’s contribution is rewarded, appreciated, and developed.  Our organization provides services to large facility owners throughout the world using proprietary 3D imaging cameras (laser scanners).  Our fast global growth has led to an opportunity for an experienced and motivated electromechanical specialist to organize and manage our laser scanning hardware department to ensure our operations department can meet its corporate goals.

The Department Manager will work directly with the Director of Operations and the current department staff. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure laser scanning hardware and accessories are maintained, calibrated, and ready for deployment per operations department work schedules Organize and manage preventive maintenance procedures including failure mode analysis, inventory control, and scheduling Manage historical maintenance logs, calibration histories, and assembly/disassembly procedures Lead and manage development projects as identified to extend laser scanning hardware capabilities.  Design and fabrication work for special projects may occur in-house or through consultants and subcontractors. Supervise department personnel and maintain accountability to maintenance and special project work schedules

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESProven organizational and management skills Strong sense of initiative and willingness to learn new concepts Deep experience in assembly and control of rotating electromechanical equipment to include bearing alignment, motor control tuning, and dynamic balancing Electro-optical equipment experience is desirable Deep experience with the use of standard test equipment including DVM, oscilloscopes, dynamic balancers, and dial indicators Should have experience in digital and analog electronic circuits in order to debug failure modes or to test subcontractor supplied electronic circuit boards Mechanical design experience including bearing systems, rotating equipment, basic housings, and development of drawings for fabrication

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE2-year technical degree required 5-10 yrs experience in maintenance management for electromechanical and electronic equipment Relevant military experience and training will be given special consideration
