Ultimate Staffing is currently searching for an experienced Laser Technician to work at one of our NE Portland clients.  If you are looking to join a small, but growing company - look no further!  Our client is seeking a great team member to join their work force.  The shift they are looking to fill right now is an off shift - swing or graveyard.  They are looking for a candidate with a lot of schedule flexibility, who is able to jump in where needed. Brief Position Summary:The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in this position.  The  Laser Technician will be performing a variety of complex laser set-ups and operation of laser machining systems, use of micrometers, calipers, and microscopes and learn to meet the productivity standards for the operation with supervision and direction.  The position will also require some laser maintenance, custom fixtures, monitor and/or repair other production support equipment and perform visual and mechanical checks on machined parts.  Data-entry into control program database is performed for each job.  All work is to be performed according to quality standards set for the operation.  Some customer communications may be required when questions arise regarding processing of jobs.   Requirements: Prior experience REQUIRED (5 years preferred, but will consider less) High school or GED required; some college preferred Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to perform mathematic calculations (trigonometry, geometry, decimals, fractions, etc) Ability to read and understand blueprints Ability to use and understand computer programs associated with laser machining and database management. Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience Able to stand, sit, bend, reach, and lift occasionally. Fine motor dexterity, high attention to detail.
