Lead Electrical Repair Technician

The Lead Electrical Repair Technician–Locating Equipment Refurbishment provides leadership to the team they manage as well as to their peers within the organization.  The successful candidate must demonstrate the courage to make decisions, balancing the benefits of speed with the thoroughness of information gathered.  The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to exercise decision-making with compassion, proactively considering the ripple effect of decisions.  All leaders at SM&P are expected to live in balance across the tenets of leadership:  courage, compassion and clarity. General Duties:

Lead internal operations of the SM&P Locating Equipment Refurbishment Center (LERC)

Create and maintain all appropriate locating equipment repair and refurbishment processes and procedures

Ensure effective, accurate, and timely repair operations for prompt field operations turn-around cycles

Manage seasonal workload and team staffing for completing all annual refurbishment requirements (approximately 2,000 units)

 

Specific Duties:

 

·  Be the company expert for creating test and refurbishment practices as the lead for initial operations stand-up

·  Testing, calibration, repair, and refurbishment of industrial grade locating devices (Radio Detection, Rycom, various others…)

·  Performs locating equipment component and sub-assembly repair and refurbishment on a daily basis

·  Maintains the piece part inventory management database and ensures all refurbishment supply material is secured  

·  Accountable for seasonal staffing plans and ensuring service delivery goals are met

·  Set up and maintain electronic test equipment rails for diagnostics and troubleshooting

·  Work directly with Operations Coordinators to ensure turn-around cycle times meet field Operations requirements

·  Develop and deliver daily, weekly and monthly analysis for LERC metrics to functional management

 

Qualifications:

·  Associate’s Degree in ASEE or military equivalent

·  5+ years experience in a repair environment

·  Extensive knowledge of electronics (circuit design, operation, components)

·  Excellent troubleshooting skills

·  Must be self-motivated and able to work without supervision

·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·  Solid verbal, written, and organizational skills required
