Position: LEAD MAINTENANCE SERVICE REP Status: Non Exempt Relocation: No Travel: Minimal Location: Dulles, VA Date Posted: Apr-10-2008 Summary Of Position:Provide Lead Maintenance Service Rep support for services provided to Panasonic Avionics customer airlinesPerform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations to the Panasonic Avionics In-flight Entertainment Systems on aircraft subjected to Federal Aviation Regulations Part 121, 135 or 145, to include; troubleshooting and testing of electronic assemblies and units, the removal and replacement of electronic assemblies, units or cabling while installed in the aircraft and the modification/alteration of installed equipment Duties:Develop a ?Work Schedule? that incorporates the needs of the customer and Panasonic Avionics and provide a monthly update by the fifth of the following month. Lead the line technicians as they perform their duties. Schedule the line technician's daily maintenance activities. Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations to the Panasonic Avionics IFE System on aircraft subjected to Federal Aviation Regulations Part 121, 127 or 135. Build customer satisfaction through identification, tracking, reporting, and successfully overcoming all technical issues for assigned airlines using networked communication systems. Be strong customer advocate inside Panasonic Avionics to help engineers and management understand / appreciate the customer/s views and negotiation points. Technically support the customer as a liaison between line operations and Panasonic Avionics departments. Aggressively contribute to the resolution of all in-fleet problems, assisting the efforts of affected support and engineering organizations within Panasonic Avionics. Develop and maintain a thorough and accurate knowledge of all Panasonic Avionics products, testers, harnesses, and associated equipment. Requires that employee maintain knowledge of product revisions and modifications. Responsible for direction to staff for daily work flow. Perform daily data entry tasks and administrative duties Qualifications Required:High school education, ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, manuals and to comprehend and follow verbal instruction. Demonstrated leadership ability. Knowledge of electronic and troubleshooting generally acquired through commercial aviation, military experience or technical school education combined with two years of related industry experience. Must hold an airframe mechanic certificate as outlined in FAR Part 65. Ability to climb and work from ladder or platforms, and ability to lift 50 pounds. Must have ability to travel. Must be able to operate under extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces for extended periods. Must hold a valid driver?s license. Good computer skills. Ability to endure sitting, standing, bending or twisting for extended periods. Ability to cope with environmental conditions which may include exposure to congestion and varying noise levels. Manual dexterity to grasp and work with tool parts and equipment. Must pass extensive security, and background checks.
