Logistics Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Title:             Logistics Supervisor

 

Department:   Shipping & Receiving

 

Reports To:    Logistics Planning Manager

 

Position Summary:

 

Responsible for the shipping, receiving and warehouse of all raw and finished goods material and to ensure that materials are moved and stored in the most cost effective manner.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

1.      Oversee the Receiving, Shipping and Warehouse functions.

 

2.      Responsible for supervising and/or assisting 3-4 employees

      in a warehouse environment.

 

3.      Coordinates the receiving of all materials.

 

4.      Works with Purchasing and Accounting to resolve any 

      receiving issues.

 

5.      Ensures materials are store in a neat and orderly fashion

      while practicing FIFO to eliminate any waste of material due

      to shelf life expirations.

 

6.      Determine orders that need to be shipping on a daily bases

      by reviewing back-log reports.

 

7.      Prepare all domestic and international shipping orders;

      select carriers and prepares required customs

      documentation.

 

8.      Lead warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate kitting

      of materials to work orders.

 

9.      Ensure warehouse inventory is current and accurate via

      Inventory Control processes. This will require knowledge to

      trace history of items to determine reasons for

      discrepancies between inventory and stock control records

      and recommends remedial actions to resolve

      discrepancies.

 

10. Set and maintain target reorder points on shipping supplies

       that are not MRP generated.

 

11. Responds to inquires and research and resolve any

       problems related to transactions handled by the department.

 

12. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high stress

       environment.

 

13. Ensure all departmental business practices, internal and

       external relationships are handled with absolute integrity

       and ethical standards.

 

14. Communicate effectively both in writing and orally with clear,

       accurate and timely efficiency.

 

Essential Job Requirements:

 

1.      High school diploma or GED, at least 5 years of experience

      that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities

      specified.

 

2.      Certified forklift operator.

 

3.      Proficiency in the use of ERP system software.

 

4.      Significant experience in a deadline driven environment.

 

5.      Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality

      environment. 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

         Must be able to perform shipping, receiving and material control

         activates in a warehouse environment to include lifting (up to 50

         pounds), moving and storing of inventory parts.
