We offer a fast paced and cutting edge environment. Due to explosive growth we are looking to hire a MAC Research Engineer to our Research team. You will be involved in developing leading technologies used in high end consumer products. Main responsibility is the development of very high speed MAC technologies and participation in related standards activities. What you will be doing:* Develop and specify new features and/or improvements for in-home and access applications, with particular focus on the media access control (MAC) layer * Participate in meetings and activities with standards bodies * Domestic and international travel may be required. * After hours conference calls may be required for global participation in standards and regulatory meetingsWhat you need to have:* 3+ years of experience in MAC protocol development, analysis, modeling, simulation and testing * Experience with active participation in industry standards groups * MSEE, preferably Ph.D. with expertise in wireless or wireline communication systems * Expert level experience of all aspects of wireless and wireline MAC layer protocols, including CSMA and TDMA protocols, scheduling and admission control, hidden stations, repeating and mesh networking, managing interference from neighboring networks or cells. * Able to analyze, model and simulate complex system/network performance and behavior. * Understanding of unreliable physical layers and how this relates to the optimum design of the MAC layerWe offer a competitive salary, relocation, bonus, stock, great benefits, strong long term career opportunities and other cool perks.So, if you have 3 or more years of industry experience with MAC Protocol development and your MSEE or Ph.D then we want to talk with you.
