Mechanical Engineer to be located in Monroe, North Carolina. Job Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products and for improving existing products. · Coordinate research and development programs associated with assigned Programs.· Provide engineering support to sustaining efforts on existing product lines.· Coordinate efforts, supervise testing and insure proper documentation of work.· Perform work tasks necessary to affect solutions to problems, improvements, and/or cost reductions.· Provide assistance to various engineering design/development and research development programs.· Manage product documentation.· Recommend manufacturing methods.· Evaluate and select materials.· Perform calculations, gather data, analyze results, and document work.· Establish engineering testing programs.· Identify goals and tasks.· Devise test methods for use in evaluating product performance. Job Requirements: · Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. Masters or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering desired. Professional Engineer’s certification is a plus.· 3+ years engineering experience required. 5+ years engineering experience preferred.· Extensive work experience in the application of 3-D design, analysis and collaboration software such as Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, SDRC IDEAS, Intralink/PDM, AutoDesk Inventor, Solid Edge, and/or AutoCAD. Inventor v11 or recent is preferred.· Experience with plastics, elastomers, textiles, metals preferred.· Prior experience in the application of statistical tools for design of experiments, measurement systems analysis, data analysis, and decision making.· Use of statistical tools in diagnosis, testing, and resolution of product non-conformances required.· Ability to manage multiple projects, goals and priorities.· Ability to identify and execute on cost savings/growth opportunities.· Must be computer literate and have proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintaining design and technical documentation revision control in MRP Systems (such as BaaN)· Must have thorough understanding of ASME Y14.5M-1994 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Stacked Tolerance Analysis, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (plastics, elastomers, textiles, metals), Strength of Materials, Design Failure Modes and Effects.· Must possess excellent verbal and written and communication skills.
