MEMS Design Engineer

The Micromachined Products division of Analog Devices, Inc. currently has a position open for a MEMS Designer within the Advanced R&D Development group. The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate a next generation technology development through a combination of internal process development efforts and contributions from external partners on the west coast. Specific job tasks include:

·  Lead and drive next generation technology development with both internal and external groups. Activities include program management as well as significant technical contributions (i.e. mems design).

·  MEMS design of inertial and non-inertial devices on this next-generation technology and corresponding communication to the rest of the MPD MEMS design community.

·  Partner with ADI’s manufacturing and process development organizations to resolve manufacturing challenges and explore paths for technology transfer.

·  Define and establish system architectures, test platforms, self-test techniques, with MPD product development and test development teams

·  Evaluate competitive technologies for the next-generation low cost inertial sensors.

 

Basic Qualifications:

·  Thorough understanding of MEMS design as well as MEMS process, package and manufacturing technology

·  Wafer and part characterization using probe systems and test equipment

·  Strong team leadership skills

 

Additional Qualifications:

 At a minimum the candidate should have a PhD in electrical/mechanical/chemical engineering or material science as well as at least 4 years of experience in MEMS technology including time during graduate school. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. High energy and motivation level required to lead technology development and support a fast growing business. Ability to travel.
