:MOCVD Engineer

Emcore Corporation is seeking to fill the position of MOCVD Engineer Wafer Fab Production to support the Specialty and Advanced Photonics Group at Emcore located in Alhambra, Ca. We are looking for a Principal Engineer. This position is responsible for operating; troubleshooting and maintaining MOCVD thin film epitaxy growth machines. Inputs and monitors data to spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to establish trends and check control limits. Modifies and maintains machine operational and maintenance instructions. A successful candidate will have the following experience/skills. Performs material characterization. Makes necessary adjustments to the growth machine recipes to maintain growth parameters within the specified limits and recommends process improvements when necessary. Schedules production runs and maintenance activities on the growth machines; then follows through to insure completeness of the activities. Identifies nonconformances when they occur and participates in finding the solution to the nonconformance. Deploys the Quality Management System as it applies to the scope of work. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Familiarity with PLC’s MFC’s, digital controls pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum systems and toxic gas handling techniques is necessary. Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitudes and abilities. Good computer skills. Must be able to analyze spreadsheet data.QUALIFICATIONS BS/BA Degree, EE/ChE preferred. At this level, graduate coursework may be desirable. Requires a minimum of 8 years of MOCVD related experience preferably with Emcore/Veeco reactors. U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to maintain a federal security clearance.
