MTS III, Power Supply - Hardware Engineer

Currently we are looking to hire a MTS III Power Supply, Hardware Engineer.

Summary:
Perform producting engineering sustaining, Power Supply Electrical Design and development including layout, analysis, evaluation, prototype build-up, and testing of electronic and electromechanical components and Line Replaceable Units.  Participate with members of management in the design and development of products and analysis of customer requirements for avionics systems giving consideration to form, fit, function, weight, productability and cost.  AC/DC design and development.

Duties:
•Design/redesign, develop, integrate and test new LRUs with outdated predecessor components and/or functionality.  Minimize impact to backward compatibility.
•Perform analysis, qualitative and quantitative tests to determine properties, characteristics and performance of materials, circuits, mechanisms and unit assemblies which failure is classified as a Safety Issue.  Recommend design changes to improve safety and reliability.
•Design and develop process equipment (media), test equipment and test specifications, record and analyze test data.
•Select hardware and material assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements.
•Perform Preliminary Test of modified LRUs to verify they meet Systems requirements, Safety check requirements, EMI and environmental specifications, manufacturability and testability requirements.
•Review ECO (Engineering Change Orders) for completeness and generate SB (Service Bulletin).

Qualifactions:

B.S.E.E., B.S.C.S., or equivalent experience.
Preferred minimum of 5 years in engineering Power Supply Design w/ Sustaining background.
Knowledge of electronics, mechanics and circuit design.
Excellent written and verbal communications required.
Requires a hardware and understanding of software technical background.
3-7 + years experience in Power Supply Design including: Switching / Interfacing AC to DC converters,DC, to DC conversions, 60hz - 360hz 400 Hz to 800 Hz desired, 115V AC primary input power to 28VDC, +/-12VDC, 3.3 VDC outputs.
Power output from 20W to 300W.
Knowledge of simulation software: Mathlab/Pspice.
Design to meet customer requirements such as current harmonic, power factors, and per DO160.Familure with Boeing or Air Bus requirements,
Familiar with Middlebrook
Knowledgeable with Line Filter
