Maintenance Mechanic, South Portland, Maine

 

Responsibilities include the disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and final qualification of a variety of production tools and assemblies. These are twelve-hour shifts: 3 days on, 4 days off; 4 days on, 3 days off with Nights and Days jobs available. Candidates must be able to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift; work may involve repetitive motion and some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) Candidate must be a reliable self-starter working with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. The hourly rate is $12.50 with a 15% differential to be paid for night and weekend hours worked. This position may require ability to wear personal protective equipment and respirators during certain maintenance procedures.

Requirements: 

 

Position requires a strong mechanical background; the ability to read and understand technical instructions is a must. Other requirements include basic computer skills; strong interpersonal and communications skills; the ability to work with a minimum of supervision in a fast paced manufacturing environment. All candidates must have a strong work history with verifiable references. National Semiconductor does require criminal background checks, pre-employment drug testing and pre-placement physicals for all new employees. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Continuing education courses in Electromechanical Technology or related Military schooling is a plus.
